Napoli are reportedly considering a move for Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee in the January transfer window, with Antonio Conte giving the 'green light' for the club to pursue the Dutchman.

Zirkzee only joined Manchester United in July, signing from Bologna in a deal worth £36.5m. However, despite his promising start to life in the Premier League, speculation has already begun to swirl over his future at Old Trafford. Juventus have been linked with a move for Zirkzee, and now Napoli have entered the dray.

According to Italian outlet Il Mattino, Conte has given Napoli the go-ahead to pursue Zirkzee, who is reportedly open to a return to Serie A. Conte has long been an admirer of Zirkzee, and Napoli's interest in the striker is likely to intensify in the coming weeks.

Napoli's move for Zirkzee is likely to be influenced by the success of Scott McTominay, who joined the club from Manchester United in August. McTominay has quickly become a fan favourite in Naples, scoring five goals and providing two assists in 12 Serie A appearances. Napoli's interest in Zirkzee suggests that the club are keen to replicate the success of McTominay's transfer.

Napoli's pursuit of Joshua Zirkzee is a clear indication of the club's ambition to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window. With Antonio Conte at the helm, Napoli are likely to be a force to be reckoned with in the transfer market, and Zirkzee's potential arrival could be a major coup for the club.
